INNOCENT YET HARD

An edginess and a grunge feel comes to mind when I the Spring 2011collection from Come For Breakfast.  With light weight knits and mesh incorporated in a menswear line, the collection screams rebellion.  While I'm on the subject of rebellion, notice how the collection is primarily made of black.. a color "normally" not associated with spring.  And if that wasn't enough, Come For Breakfast decided to compliment or shall I say going against the grain of the season by accessorizing the looks with leather and suede boots.

Come For Breakfast selected stylists Aline and Jacqueline Tappia along with model Jaco Van Den Hoven to bring their latest lookbook to life.

Fashion Wins The Medal

One thing that most people don't know about me is my love of bronze and gunmetal hues.  When I came across this this I.T Post editorial that featured models Sebastian Sauve and Stephan Haurholm, I melted.  Shot by Kwannam Chu, this spread uses clothin from Julius and accessories from cat Varga (which was also used in Ninh Nguyen's show).

"Rudy's Reed"

Hey guys, it's me.. Coming to fill you in on what will be coming your way in the next few months.  As always, I will continue bringing the hottest  fashion editorials your way.  My good friends/photographers Bob Burkhardt and Elvis Piedra are keeping me rather busy.  I just recently met a rather interesting and dare I say head strong opinionated young man by the name of Angel Niles Jr.  Not only will I be styling him for a few shoots, I also had some one on one time with him for my Snapped and Caught series. This should be an fun piece to write up, so stay tuned for that.

Aside from Angel in the Snapped and Caught series is a guy whose look I have admired from afar for quite some time, Michael Macneal.  It first took me months to asking him to be apart of of what I am trying to bring you guys, and now that he has said yes, I need him to sit his every so busy behind down and answer the questions I have thrown his way.  I am hoping that this will slow him down a tad.. YOU HEAR ME MICHAEL???? lol.

Next up is Skills... Skills actually hit me up on my Model Mayhem profile, and although I took a picture of him backstage at an event I covered a few months ago, I honestly didn't recognize him.  Always sporting a bald dome, its amazing how a "real" model can change their look simply by adding or shaving facial hair.  I have something very fresh in mind that I will be doing with rising star.

A great manyof you have been hitting me up on my facebook profile with message asking wear I got certain items for shoot, and their prices.  Well, a great many of them are made for the shoots I am doing... However, a great many of them a for sale after the shoot is done.  If you dont have a facebook account(which I doubt) feel free to leave a comment after each posting in the comment section.  You don't need a gmail, or google account to do this... It's rather easy.
As always, stay tuned to Fashion Forward Men for the latest and hottest coverage, and if there is something you want to see more of, feel free to let me know.

Thanks

CRAZY FOR COLOR

Although I love a monochromatic look, I sometimes swoon when I see color combos done in an explosive creative manner.  Models Silviu Tolu and Kaan Tilki are captured by photographer Shannon Sinclair for Euro Mag GRIT.

KIRK KELLEY ...GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

Since my relocation to Atlanta, I have met some of the most amazing individuals.  Not only in the fashion industry, but in all genres of business.  And although the spectrum is wide, some individuals tend to stand out more than most.  It is unfortunate that we have lost one of the most  amazing upcoming designers,  I"m speaking of  my friend Kirk Kelly.

Like so many other amazing talents, Kirk left us before we were able to fully see his full potential, but that doesn't mean that he didn't make a name for himself while here with us.  As I looked through my portfolio, I never realized how much of his fabulous creations that I had actually used.  He was not only a menswear designer, he was a womenswear and accessory designer as well.

Although me and a few of  Kirk's other close friends plan on keeping his name alive by doing fashion shows and photo shoots using his designs, I wanted to share some images of my work that I used of his.

FASHIONS BAD BOYS

Dansk Magazine uses models Malthe Lund Madsen, Victor Nylander, Oskar Tranum, and Peter Beyer in this gritty yet chic editorial.  If the 1979 film THE WARRIORS were to be modernized, I envision them to be portrayed like this.  The models wear clothing provided by Burberry, Soulland, Emporio Armani, and Jean//Phillip.
