MAKING THE OLD NEW AGAIN

Always being a fan on black and white photography, with a hint of retro , I smiled with glee after coming across this session with photographer Zan Handley, and McInnes Taljaard.  Entitled STRAY CATS, this  modern day lonesome Rebel Without A Cause inspired shoot was styled by Elle Packham.  Sporting a genuine pompadour, these greaser sock-hop chic looks were achieve by clothing from St Augustine Academy, Subfusco, Converse, Levis, and Peter Lang and others.

The incredible mind of Rad Hourani teams up with mega stylist Patti Wilson in this shoot/lookbook.

Hourani made six garments... The shoot is designs to show 22 looks that you could come up with the various pieces.  Here are just a few of the ones the made me gasp.. (yes, its most of them,.. lol)

Oozing sexy masculinity, Claude Simonon is captured by Niclas Heikkimen for Indie Magazine.   This Forward Cowboy was draped in Vivienne Westwood,  Diesel, Wrangler, Noki, Rokit, and DSquared to achieve his looks.

RICK'S GET-AWAY

While taking a break in beautiful Brazil, Zombie Boy is photographed by Zee Nunes in this editorial called Pierrot Tropical.

I think its wonderful that Rick is getting so much work.. I love the fact that artists, designers and publications are not trying to put him in a box of darkness.. Instead showing there is even beauty in what some of us may not understand.   

Using Rick's tatted body as an extra component of print to garments, I bow down to Daniel Ueda for the styling. 

FEELING DOWN???

Duvetica Fall 2011 

  Structure in clothing has always been an obsession of mine when it comes to clothing.  I love to see the lines of nicely made clothing on the human form.  Doesn't matter if the person has a great physique or not, the structure of a piece (if worn properly) can distract from problem areas, all the while enhancing the better ones.

I am rambling slightly... The reason why I am saying this is- I have never been the biggest fan of down coats.  I always found them to be unattractive  bubble plastic that people decided to wear on their bodies.  They rarely look good on people and they always make you look bigger.  Seeing what Duvetica  has done for Fall  2011,  has me viewing my issue in a more optimist manner.

  Although I absolutely love the bold pops of color, the black, closely fitted hooded jacket(above), is my favorite of all. 

 Adding the sex appeal to the campaign are models:

Adrien Brunier, Ash Stymest, Bo Develius, Julian Hennig and Lucien Thomkins.
